He Shiyuan
He Shiyuan is a plant taxonomist and professor in the department of life science. He was born in August 1927, Man nationality. He enrolled in the department of biology in Beijing Normal University in 1947, graduated and began working in the department in 1952. He was the director of the botanic teaching and research room of the department of biology, and engaged in teaching systematic botany and research. He edited “Botany” (the section on systematic division), a textbook for universities. In 1956, he worked as lecturer, became an associate professor in 1979, and then became a full professor in 1988. He worked as a member of the eighth editorial board of “Flora of China,” standing member of editorial board of “Journal of Systematic,” and deputy director of the weed seminar of the Beijing Pesticide Society. The book “Flora of Beijing” (Volume One and Two, revised again in 1992) which he edited, received third prize of the fourth national excellent scientific and technological progress book award and the third prize of the Beijing scientific and technological progress award.
