Shou Zhenhuang
Shou Zhenhuang (1899-1964) ichthyologist, ornithologist and therologist, was one of the pioneers of China’s vertebrate zoology. He published the first paper (cooperating with others) about China’s ichthyology and the first one about ornithology in 1927. In 1936, he published “Avifauna in Hebei Province,” which was the first Chinese avifauna and first regional avifauna. His exploitation of Chinese therological study in early 1950s filled the almost blank Chinese therology. He devoted his whole life to the establishment and development of Chinese vertebrate zoology and the cultivation of researchers.
